If you are on your Hong Kong tour at night, one of the places that you should include in your Hong Kong things to do at night list is visiting the Murray house, in Stanley. It is one of Hong Kong’s longest surviving buildings and has become an iconic landmark.
The Murray House, during the Japanese era, was used as an execution spot where it was believed that thousands of Hong Kong citizens were tortured, murdered and some even committed suicide. During the 1960s it was said that the ghost sightings and ghostly activities are so strong that the government needed to exorcise the spirits through Taoist rituals.
Nowadays, people come here now and use the beautiful place for wedding photos, and events and even family bonding. The place is full of life and people come there to unwind, eat and drink fro the strip of bars.
