Hong Kong walking tour | Noon Day Gun Salute
Noon day gun salute is a tradition that is still being observed until this day which started in the year 1800’s. When you are out on a tour with your Hello Hong Kong tour guide, you can visit the area in causeway bay where the the noon gun salute is being held everyday. At the daily firing event, a Jardines' guard marches up to the site in uniform. The guard rings a bell to signal the end of the fore-noon watch. Then, the guard marches up to the Noonday Gun and fires it,after which he rings the bell again, locks the chain blocking access to the gun and goes off
The gun is fired every day at noon and has become a tourist attraction. This is one itinerary that you can include in your list of Hong Kong activities.
